However, today, the folks over at AndroidCentral claim they have been able to confirm Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S III is indeed coming within the next several days.
The cited report mentions “sources familiar with Samsung’s plans” confirmed the firmware was in the final stages of testing and would soon be released for general public.
Keep in mind that this build will only be available for international Samsung Galaxy S III devices, though other builds might be released for North American version soon after.
It is also worth mentioning that sources close to the matter claim the Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S III will be announced shortly after the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event, which is set to take place on August 29 at IFA 2012, in Berlin, Germany.
We expect Samsung to announce the Galaxy Note sequel on August 29, which means the update will be announced immediately after Galaxy Note II is unveiled.
Word is that Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S III will be initially rolled out in several European countries, including the UK. The update will be pushed in stages in other regions as well, except North America.
For the time being, there’s no info on the upcoming Jelly Bean update for the North American version of Galaxy S III, but Samsung will probably offer this upgrade at some point by the end of the year.
